I have 1GB DDR (4x256MB) anyway the pagefile size is 768MB, is it wise to increase the page file size (gaming wise).

Nah just leave as is, if it needs more it will do automatically.

I'm about to update to 2 gig and atm the page file is 1.5 times my 1 gig. What should I lower it to for the 2 gig?

Well mine is at 3.5gig including ram (never touched it), so just leave as is imo.

the only time i've had to increase th pagefile was when i was playing Black 'n White 2.

There is an option in Admin Tools > Performance to monitor how much of your pagefile is being used.

AFAIK windows is pretty good at managing the pagefile. If in doubt leave it alone.
