I have this massive 8gb file which is quite literally hogging my ssd space. Do i actually need paging if i have 8gb of ram?

I can't seem to set it to any other size. I can either let the system manage it or turn it off completely :S.

When i set the minimum and maximum, it doesn't save?

Is it SAFE to turn it off?

I reduced mine down to 250MB and have never had a problem. And as well as disabling hibernation, I've also turned off system restore which takes up a load of space.

I've already disabled hibernation so i've free'd up some space but i was hoping i could save more by turning it off

Hmm good point, i'll try that as i really don't want it there tbh hogging up all the space i need.

thanks

Right i've set it to 500mb minimum and 1gb max for now, i don't really understand what paging is for and what benefits i get from leaving it on.

Can someone explain please?

Cheers guys, glad i didn't turn it off then.

I've kept it on my SSD but reduced the size as said. 1gb should be more than plenty for storing info and errors right? Plus i can't see myself running out of ram anytime soon!

Seems there is quite abit of uncertainty whether it should be left on or off and whether it should be left on the SSD or on a seperate drive..
