Paid for overclock, where is it?

So I bought a custom system from overclockers two weeks ago. Paid for the "Stage 4: Overclock of CPU/Memory - 25% Overclock (Proceesor
speed x1.25 / Max Attainable RAM SPEED)".

Now it's a i7 2600k build but with cpuz and other software it's telling me that the clock speed is stock 3.40ghz

Speed fan and CPUZ results:

Also I'm a bit of a noob and not sure what I'm looking for so here are the results of my "G.Skill RipJawsX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual
Channel Kit" ram that was also supposed to be overclocked, is it stock speeds still?.

Have they forgotten to overclock my system or is it something I'm doing wrong? Can't remember how much extra the OC service was but it wasn't cheap, other than this I am very pleased with it.

Can't read anything on those pictures but SB's only overclock when they need to. They have two profiles, one for when idle and one for when they need extra power. It's called turbo I believe. Used to be called speed step only that was was a downclock instead, but the principle is the same. Download prim 95. Run it and then see if the overclock goes up.

The pictures are large enough to read but I think image shack resized them. I ran prime 95 and it says my cpu is running at "3392.23 MHz"

Edit* And my motherboard is a "Gigabyte P67A-UD4 Intel P67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard"

Ok, you will want to restart your system, Press the "Delete" key when the Gigabyte screen comes up.

Then when the main BIOS menu comes up (shown on page 33 of your motherboard manual) press the "F12" key. From there you should see an option for a OCUK installed overclocking profile. Select it, load it up, then save and exit the BIOS. When you get into windows - check CPU-Z again.

Also, are you running a revision B3 motherboard?

Right, I went into the BIOS and as I went into the "MB Intelligent Tweaker" option it flashed this up:

"The system has experienced boot failures because of overclocking or changes of voltages"

Then listed the following details:

BIOS version F3
BCLK 99.80 MHz
CPU frequency 3393.23 MHz
Memory frequency 1330.65 MHz

Also the overclock profile, would that be under "load cmos from bios"? Because there is a profile there called OCUK

Edit* No it isn't a revised model, I phoned overclockers up about the revised motherboards and seeing if I could change it and the guy told me that only a small percentage was affected and that if anything went wrong it would be covered as part of the revision

Yes, this is the option you want. Load up "OCUK", save and exit. Then check it out in CPU-Z.

That makes sense, keep an eye on the performance on the SATA II (3Gbps) ports. If you can, connect all your HDDs and optical drives up to the SATA 6Gbps ports.

That is strange. When you have the "OCUK" profile selected, what options are available in the BIOS for you to do? You should press the "Enter" key after you have selected (highlighted) "OCUK".

If you can't get this to work tonight then I suggest you send an email or webnote to OCUK and ask for exact instructions to enable the overclock. Did any instructions come with the kit?

Thanks for your help. What options would I be looking for? I pressed enter and saved the profile as well but not sure why there is only one profile, surely if it was overclocked it would have two at least?

I think the main thing to look for is the option which has <Enter> as the keypress and any others like this that pop up.

If pressing <Enter> when "OCUK" is highlighted (and saving and exiting, if that is required) does not sort you out then I would certainly email OCUK. I don't have this motherboard and am purely working from the manual and previous experience with OCUK overclocked bundles so I can't advise you any further than this.

Aye, there would only be one profile. The board ships normally with no saved profile - in your case OCUK saved one in for your overclock.

What do you mean by you "saved the profile"? Did you use F11 and save the non-overclocked (factory default settings) as a different profile next to "OCUK"?

I just meant I chose the OCUK profile saved and exited. No I haven't created a default profile, I will email them see what they say. Again thanks for your help

I was considering buying a pre-oc'd bundle but put off after hearing a lot of instances where the overclock isnt applied and you have to mess about in the BIOS. For me the whole point of buying a system pre-oc'd is so that I don't have to do anything.

If the BIOS is anything like my EX58-UD5, after selecting the OCUK profile, you then have to go to the advanced settings page, a big red box will be there saying the settings have changed, do you want to use the new settings (something along those lines anyway). The OCUK settings will only stick if you say yes to this, then exit saving settings.

This is exactly why I paid for the overclock to be done

Just tried but no red box, nothing! Also OCUK still have not replied and I have to go to work in ten minutes so it doesn't look like I'm going to get anything done today. Funny because they replied quickly to webnotes before I placed my order....

Have you sent a query in the OCUKmatters part of the forum (near the bottom of the forum). go to the customer services part then technical queries. They are usually pretty good at getting back to you if you have a problem.

That is beacuse they are two seperate departments. One of pre-sales and one for technical help.

Now it looks like you have not put the system under enough stress (CPU load at 100%) to see the clock speed rise as we keep speedstep enabled so that the systems are not running full bore all the time.

You have now messed in the BIOS and as you are unsure about what you are doing.

It is very easy to enable an OC profile. Press DEL upon bootup to enter the BIOS then press F12, select the profile titled "OcUK" then press ok to load it, a box will pop up to ask you are you sure about this, select yes. Profile will now be loaded. Press F10 and yes and then the system will reboot with the OC profile loaded.

Now once into windows load up CPUZ and prime 95, load prime95 up and select "Small FFTs" and click run. This will stress the CPU to 100%, CPUZ will reflect this.

I can assure you I haven't messed about in bios, the only thing I have done was loaded the ocuk profile, I might be ignorant in regards to overclocking and such but I'm not stupid enough to start changing things that I do not understand. Thanks for your advice, I shall try it out when I get home from work and post the results, sorry if I sounded miserable but it wasa lot of money for this rig.
