I have recently purchased a pre-built system (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-176-OE) and paid for the overclocking option, just ran a stress test and the CPU never goes above the stock speed of 3.3Ghz, which leads me to believe that they have not overclocked it! :(

Can anyone adivse me on a safe overclock that I can change myself.. (i.e multiplier value)

Thanks

Corsair H60 Cooler

Well if you've paid for it, why not contact their customer service and then send it back for them to overclock? That's what I'd do anyway.

I think hes looking for advice on if hes missing something first.

As said above, check the bios and see if theres a saved profile in there that has the OC'd settings on.

what are you using to check the speed as windows will always show it at its stock speed no martter what its clocked to, use somthing like the latest cpuz program to see its speed and prime 95 to mkae it come on boost.

Check with CPU-Z first to ensure it's not overclocked.

If it isn't it may be that it was overclocked but that the BIOS has reverted to stock settings because the overclock has failed.

Check in the BIOS to see if a profile has been saved with the overclocked settings and load that.

If the overclocked profile causes any problems, or there isn't one there, then contact OcUK.

What software you using to check the speed of the CPU.

Also pop into the the BIOS and there will be a option ato load CMOS from the BIOS, I think its F11 or F12, this should show a list of saved profiles of which one will be the overclock.

Intel Burn Test, and i'm using CPU-z :)

hmmm only other option is check for saved profiles in bios if nothing then give them a bell and see if theyll talk over the phone how to do it or send back for fixing
