What do you use on your computer )not thinking photoshop but more power user type things). Any specific recommendations?

The only one I will make (other than things like evernote which I am sure a lot of you use), is J River Media Centre. It is an amazing player!

I kind of mean hacks and tips rather than being just listing "i just illustrator" or whatever, you know. Add ons and stuff, useful programmes.

thats why i wish bosses (or more specifically it depts) allowed certain programmes likke rescue time. Awesome for productivity
