Just got this game, never played it before even though it's been out for so long. Currently downloaded patches etc, but is there any mods I should download or any other things?

i never really played this game but i picked it up early last year for 99p but just left it in the pile.
is it worth playing? i could dig it out and give it a bash if its worth the effort?

It's like a darker version of serious sam. Less humour, more horror, but the same style of combat and over-the-top weaponry and bosses.

As far as run-and-gun-fun goes, you won't find many better than this.

Just got the Black Edition myself. It's fun for short periods of mindless action.

I remember playing it when the Black Edition appeared. I don't think I ever finished it though. I got stuck trying to kill the HUGE baddy on the last level.

Great fun pinning stuff to walls with the stake gun, as far as i remember this was one of the earlier games with real-time gfx - blowing up barrels with shards flying around and stuff - like HL2

Hehe, just fnished the main game & now started the expansion
Battle out of hell, jeez its a scary first level, reminds me of Fear, there's an orphanage & lots of evil little kids & little girls just like the one in Fear that burst into flames & run at you, for sheer fragability you can't beat this game

Pinning zombies to walls in various styles and positions never got old

It was a great game when it came out, not sure if it stood the test of time however but worth a shot as you could pick it up for coppers these days.

I can't think of another game that can throw so many attackers at you all at once,
first time ever I got motion blur on my 2mls responce screen because of the sheer number of knights & zombies swarming at me from all angles , just had a few minutes on the Loony fairground level & it even gets better LOL

I bought it having become hooked with the game during the CPL World Tour coverage. Some great games between Vo0 and Fatal1ty....just a shame only about 50 others in the world still played it too
