Hey,
I don't really want to install SP2 on this computer, while my dad's which I have paint.net on is Win2000 SP4, so that runs it fine.

I'm wondering if there's a small file paint.net need which I don't have that I can install, and then I can copy the paint.net files over from the installation as I can't be bothered to install SP2 as I don't want the hassle, but like paint.net.

Thanks a lot.

Paint.net doesn't need sp2 does it? just needs .net framework 2 free from Microsoft website. Any reason you don't want a more secure windows?

Minimum System

* Windows XP (SP2 or later),

Needs what you said also.

Yeah, from what I've heard it changes a few things and I like my windows exactly as it is :p

edit: I'll have a look at what it does on the net.

Yeah you can run it as long as you've got the .Net framework.

I cant remember how I did it now, I either extracted the files from the exe, or copied the installed folder from another PC that already had it installed.

Hmm. Ok I'm downloading sp2now.

I heard stuff about zip files etc being messed up? Or is that something completely different?

Yup, WinFX is a.k.a. .NET Framework 3.0 :)

I can't believe there are still people out there not using SP2
