Looking to remove paint from something that is plastic but oddly shaped so sanding everywhere is impossible. Is there anything out there that would soften the paint without melting the plastic body?

The part in question is a keyboard top.

Not that I am aware of, paint stripper liquid, sanding paper or paint stripper gun are the only things I found that could remove paint but off a plastic item would damage it I reckon.

Could you not use the right type of light sand paper ? paint stripper liquid maybe possible if you put on a thin layer of it but not tried it on plastic surfaces only wood and even then it took several layers and many hours just to do a small portion.

Used nitromors on on my pvc door, worked well, did leave a slightly green tinge behind tho, came off after loads of scrubbing tho

I used to strip plastic, vinyl and resin models with foam oven cleaner. worked well and didn't damage plastic, but sometimes the paint just stains the plastic if it's a light colour to begin with.

The process was spray t down and leav it in a zip-lock bag, or other bag. rinse the paint off and agitate if needed. sometimes took a few passes.

it also depends ont he type of plastic, but I think generally you will be okay. test it on the back of the piece first.
