Paintball for the first time

Hey,

Uni guys have arranged a paintball event for tonight, hosted in a new indoor urban enviroment.

Any tips?

Probs a million, but whats the best stratagy with regards to fire rate? Much recoil from the gas guns?

Total noob here.

The best advice I ever got was from an instructor when I went once that told me, whenever you see an opponent hiding behind something (for example a tree), the natural action is to fire at the tree! Something to do with being able to see your shots hitting something!

The best bet is to fire either side of the object they are hiding behind so that when they poke their head out or try to make a run for it, you catch them! :D

Increased my "kill" rate massively the last few times I've been!
 
Always run in to the open. No one will expect it and won't know whether to shoot you or not

There is very minimal recoil and nothing you should be worried about. Come on, they let kids at the age of 12 go and play.

If you don't want to worry about paint costs too much - buy in bulk between your friends if you can.

Tips:

1. Look around

2. If you can't see them, they can't see you...so move fast to another position

3. Don't be scared, it really doesn't hurt that much...once your hit at the beginning of
the day. all the rest seem like nothing.

4. Unless you're a very rich student, try to budget your paint a bit. E.g. Just under a hopper a game would be enough.

5. Keep firing at people until they put there hand up

6. Don't be a prat shooting marshalls, they are there for your safety

7. Keep your dam mask on at all times, even if it fogs up

8. You can see paint coming through the air, so remember to dodge when you can.

9. If you’re hiding, don’t come out of the same position back to back, be unpredictable

10. You are there to have fun, remember that

11. Enjoy one of the most adrenaline rush sports in the world :)

Time to report back!

Great fun! adrenaline was pumping ^^

Played some crazy games with unlimited respawn, went through 500 balls very quickly.
I think i can safely say that due to my fps history i got the attacking and defending tactics sorted.
Got so many people in the head, was laughing most of the time haha

only 1 annoying thing, mask + breath = FOG!!! couldnt see very much after running around for a while.

Got shot a only a few times, twice in the mask, quite a shock xD

All in all, great fun, will be doing it a lot more with the pb society at uni.

Yea i have a few bruises, not to bad though.
My mate got 1 right on the top of his head and sat behind the bad barrier for the rest of the match feeling sorry for himself lmao

Some crazy people there tho, just running at the enemy and getting shot constantly, must like the pain xD
 
aim for the head ;) if your gun accuracy is like mine you aim for the head and you hit everywhere but the head! Really good fun paintballing and it doesn't hurt until later on as the adrenaline is flowing.
