I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on how to paint a case, I never painted one before.

Just wondering first of all, how would I "prepare" it, is there some kind of solvent I need to buy to clean it properly first? My girlfriend likes to put stickers and crap on the case which is why I'm painting it now.

Second: What kind of paint do you use? I would like to paint it Black.

Thanks in advance

the art to spray is the prep.

wet flat all areas and then rub down with thinners or something like to remove any inpurites . make sure not dusty or wet when spraying for best finish.

a good idea would be to see a local body shop if you want a really good finish or professional look do the pre work yourself and just ask if someone would do the spraying someone might give it a quick blast for some beer money ;)

other option powder coat it.

1/Use 600 grit to sand down your case, use warm soapy water then clean with fresh water then dry off with a lint free soft cloth.

2/For primer use etch primer as it eats into the metal to get a good grip this will give you a good base to the topcoat.
Do light coats of the primer and leave about 20 mins between coats, once your happy with the primer leave to dry overnite.

3/Then use 800 grit and do the same as you washed the case.

Top coat same as primer light coats until happy.

You can get a case powdercoatd for about £50
