Hey just moved house and redecorated everything bar the garage now i have some interesting plans for the garage ot become my man cave as well as my motorbike workshop. but i'd like to spruce it up first.

My question is do i need to pva seal the pre fab walls?

Those are what my walls look like and i was just going to put some dulex weathersheild brillant white on them but im not sure weather to use waterproof pva to seal them first i'll be doing the floors as i'll be laying laminate at the far end of the garage with laminate running down the middle of the garage so the bikes don't touch the carpet either side.

Anyways sorry for the long winded post , so pva or not to pva that is the question.

The inside of my prefab garage is exactly the same... I recently painted the outside with Dulux masonry paint, had some left over so did the inside as well. No prep, no sealing etc and its worked fine. It seems to have been absorbed fairly quickly so a second coat may be in order at some point, but it already looks about 100x better.

That's great to know i don't have to paint the outside as i have that horrible pebble textured crap already on the outside , which pretty much weather proofs the outside
i was thinking about 2-3 coats to get it nice and brilliant white .

Not sure if you can help on this subject either - we had a new kitchen put in so the old cabinets have been relocated as a work space for the garage now the existing colour is a horrible granny beige colour but i have 2 tins of charcoal grey silk emulsion i was planning on sanding the cabinets down to roughen them up and then painting them with the waterbased emulsion the only problem i can see is it might not be hard wearing enough - i have some cans of clear spray laquer spare from sparying up motorbike panels and was thinking of spraying the bottoms of the shelves and drawers to protect them if the emulsion isn't hard wearing enough does that sound like a good idea or just overkill?

Funnily enough I just bought a lockup near me and painted the inside a few days ago.

Absolutely do not put pva anywhere near paint! :)

Just work some masonry paint in with a brush/roller. FYI Screwfix have on offer right now for 10litres of Sandtex masonry paint in white for £24.99 almost half price. You'll need two tubs to get two coats if you want to get a fully white job on there!

That looks perfect and fit's way better on my wallet! theres 2 stores near me but google maps isn't being very helpfull but im sure i'll find it! the garage is around 3x8m 2 tubs should be fine right?
