Painting the lid

I don't have much experience in this at all, other than having it drilled into me during CBT etc that this just should not be done except with specialist paints, otherwise the fibreglass will degrade etc.

So, if I want to change my helmet colour and keep it looking good for a couple of years, what paints would be your recommendation?

IMO don't do it, it'll be very hard to get a decent finish and lids are not designed to be repainted. Buy one in the colour you want!

Or get it done professionally by somewhere that knows what they are doing

From what I have been told unless it is an authorized company painting them your warranty on them can be void.

I know its not in your imediate area but worth a try.
