We're looking to give our property a bit of a face lift. We've just replaced the old garage door and front door will also be replaced shortly. We can't afford to replace the windows just yet as it's not a cheap job. They're currently a dark brown which clashes with the colour of our new doors. The plan is to go with a medium grey for the windows with warmth (golden oak) coming from the doors. This will at least give us the chance to test we like the colour before committing to new windows in a couple of years.

Has anyone painted their windows here? I'm not looking to spray them as that would be wasted cost, but looking to clean, sand and paint them by hand. I know the finish won't be quite as good but I can hopefully do a reasonable job. Any tips on good paints, primer and the process from those who've done it. Thanks

Following: I've seen it done (professionally, using a spray system) but tempted to paint my son's bedroom window - we have horrible council PVC window/wall panels that could do with a face lift.
