Pairing dual channel sticks

I've currently got 8gb (2x4) Avexir RAM, which I think is rated for 2400mhz, and I want to double up to 16gb.

A couple of questions: 1). Is it better to get a fresh dual channel 2x8gb or will I achieve the same by simply adding another 2x4 dual channel? 2). Do I need to match the brand and model of RAM? OCUK have some Avexir of the type I have but it's 2666mhz - does it matter if it's not the same rated frequency? Will it simply down rate to the speed of the slowest set?

Personally, I would get 2x 8GB as running 4 sticks might affect your CPU overclock. But yeah you can run unmatched sticks and they'll run at the slowest speed.

Thanks. In that case I'll grab a set of 2x8.
What's a good make to go for? I wanted something around 2133 or above.
