Palit 2070 Super GP Fan Weirdness

I'm experiencing an odd issue with the fans on the GPU that I recently bought from overclockers.co.uk. Under load, the commanded GPU fan duty cycle does not change, but the fan RPM frequently and audibly dips/stalls. I managed to record the behaviour using Furmark, RTSS, OBS and a mic.

I tried setting the GPU fan duty to fixed values (e.g. 60%, 80%. 100%) using Palit's control software, but the behaviour persists. I'm baffled, any suggestions gratefully received.

In case anyone else has the same issue, I received this reply from Palit support:
Dear customer

Thank you for the mail.

According to the video we suspect the fan might have some hardware error.
Please contact the store where you bought the card to claim warranty.

Please kindly be notified that Palit provides manufacturer warranty only to its distributors (not to resellers or end-users).
So Palit only handles warranty claims from its distributors.
Warranty claims from end users or resellers have to be processed through local distributors.
End users should contact the store where they purchased the graphic card to claim warranty.

Sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.
Thanks.

Best regards

Hello,

Aplogies for bringing up this old thread however I’m having the same issue. Fan speed is set at whatever my curve is however the fan rpm jumps up and down constantly.

Were you able to receive a replacement or a refund?

Thanks

Ah okie doke. I have just started a RMA but it has to go back to the manufacturer for either repair, replace or refund. I’m wanting a refund as I don’t want to go through the same process again but I guess it depends on what Palit make of it.
