Palit Backplate Love it or Hate it ?

Works really well too! Copper heat pipe ext

so so hot to touch needs fan active cooling

This is a bit of a dubious claim. Graphine is extremely expensive. From what I gather it is plastic mixed with graphite. Personally I would prefer aluminum.

Not a big fan of that. Like the Ventus backplate the best.

I had this card - that backplate does not work as effectively for cooling as ones with holes in them!

Didn't like mine, it went watercooled shortly after so i never had to see i again. The cooler itself wasn't too bad but wasn't that great at cooling either tbh compared to other AIB's unless you increased fan speed.

Everything I've seen from douzens of reviewers say temps are just fine on the Ventus. and with some easy undervolting they are "great" low to mid 60's in gaming!

Yeah it works fine. All of that is true, I put some videos up with undervolts on the Ventus from when I had it

I think out if the box it went to 70 but that was because the default fan curve was not nearly aggressive enough.

I am naturally comparing with its replacement the ASUS TUF which with similar RPM of 1600/1700 the fans stays low 60s at stock settings and 1900-1950 on the core clock speed. With an undervolt it would be much cooler I guess.

My 1080 has always ran around ~75 degrees and I can't say that has bothered me at all! As far as I am concerned, as long as it doesn't throttle or sound like a Jet I am happy. I always have headphones on when gaming anyway.

Am I the only one who doesn't care what any card looks like as it spends 100% of the time in my Case and I never see it ? :)

No you aren't. If you're watching your graphics card instead of your screen(s) you're doing something wrong... :D I'd happily buy stickerless, non decorated, basic versions as long as the cooling was good.
