System as per sig, Asus H81+ motherboard, I5 4460, EVGA 650 GQ psu, 2 x 4 gig Patriot ram. Card won't over clock, tried afterburner and thundermaster software. Card just locks up. This is the 2nd Nvidia card I've had that I can't overclock. Maybe thinking it's the motherboard causing problems.
Other card was a 780 3 gig by Zotac, running at the time a CX 500m PSU by Corsair, swapped to the EVGA PSU and still no over clock, got shot of it, had a couple of Radeon cards in between and now on the 770 Palit.
If I can't squeeze anymore out of it, I am going to buy either a used R9 290 for £120 or a new RX 470 to try and get a few more gaming FPS. The only thing putting me off the R9 290 is they are supposed to be noisy.
Any idea why the Palit won't overclock? is there an issue with these H81 boards? any help appreciated.
