So when I look at GPU's I always find the cheapest in each range are almost always Palit, are they a good brand or are they cheap and nasty and should be avoided???

Now the last Palit card I owned was a GTS250 1GB (about 4 cards ago) and it was OK for the budget I was working too at the time it did the job...

I am looking into the 1080 cards as they don't seem to cost much more then the 1070/1070ti right now but being such a high price I want to make sure I am buying quality

Current card is a GTX970

Second Question: WHAT is going on here...? 1060>1080

I would expect the performace per watt to come out better as would the value element, but I take them comparison sites with a pinch of salt at best. I have a palit 1060, its build quality is excellent but will see what others respond with as its the first time I have used them.

Palit are great, they're a big brand in Asia I believe.

I had a Palit 1060 and whilst the cooler was very cheap, it got the job done and got exactly the same scores as the more expensive Asus/Gigabyte models.

I had a pallit once (and a gainward - same manufacturer), i had problems with both and both had to be sent off to china for RMA and both retailers never heard anything from them again, way past the 28 day turn around, I basically had to invoke the credit card genie to get my money back, so I've sworn off then personally

Pretty much Palit in a nutshell - does the job but they are just OK - bit of a step down from my 780GHz which had a lot of copper and a backplate and fairly substantial build quality to this Palit 1070 which has all aluminium cooling and cheap feeling plastic with no backplate or anything else not 100% essential.

i had a palit super jet stream 1060 and cannot complain about it at all and it was a good overclocker too.

I have a Palit Jetstream 1080 which has been flashed to a Super Jetstream. This is my 2nd Palit card 1st was a GTS 450 Sonic. For Nvidia I always buy Palit and for AMD Sapphire. neither of these companies cards have I ever had an issue with.

Trouble with Palit is, if it breaks be ready to wait for ages until it gets repaired. I would rather just pay the extra from now on and deal with a company that has a UK RMA center.

Palit is one of very few manufacturers that make passive mid-range GPUs. I used (and still have) their passive GTX 750 Ti and am currently using their passive GTX 1050 Ti. The cards are marginally slower than the actively-cooled equivalents but I'm not a gamer so I don't notice any difference.

Palit make great cards. I had their 980, 980 Ti and 1080 efforts (all using basically the same cooler with different shrouds) and they were all extremely quiet.

Palit 670 that is still in my main system for over 5 years. I have no problems with it, just changed the thermal paste 3 times over that period.

Very reliable in my opinion.
