Hi guys,

I'm after a point and shoot camera thats fairly compact, for generally taking photos on holidays and days out etc. I'm looking at spending around the £300ish mark but I have found a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF5 with a PZX 14-42mm lens and possible extra spare battery for £255 (not sure if I'm allowed to link).

Would you recommend this as a good price or is it worth waiting to see what is coming out soon?

I really want a decent point and shoot camera this time around that's going to last me a few years!

Cheers

Dean

I saw that on HUKD, all out of stock I think now. They are really good cameras but not exactly compact, an LX-7 would fit behind it size wise and an top P&S, I will be getting one myself although the Fuji X10 is tempting...

Yeah it was on hukd but the offer is back on. The fujifilm x10 looks nice. Ive just taken the plunge and bought it. If i dont get on with it ill just have to sell it on :-)

I'd buy the Gf3 with the 14mm lens. £299 all in.

Easily able to put that combo in a coat pocket and you can pick up a 14-42mm kit lens off eBay VERY cheap as although serviceable they're not very well regarded.

I have the G3 and am tempted to get a GF3/14mm kit as backup camera
