Panasonic releases post focusing via firmware upgrade

Instead of using light field technology*like Lytro*or an array of cameras*like Light, Panasonic’s feature uses rapid-fire focus bracketing.*

Under licensing do you think this feature would make its way to other cameras or will other brands release their own versions? Could also be a useful feature added to light room or photoshop .

Still trying to figure out when i would opt for this feature ,it is shooting 50 frames at 4k at 30fps at various focus intervals with the use of dfd .
4k photo mode works well in instances where you have a fast moving object ie a bee around a flower and extracting your still from the footage 30fps is going to give you some advantage in this instance to catch the exact moment ,you require .
Maybe post focus would be better?
I feel the next step will be better 5k from panasonic extracting a 15mp image
Probably only cameras with 4k have the ability ,you would not really want a 1920x1080 image 2mp from your camera
so you stuck with sony canon panasonic and samsung who i think have quit the camera market
