Just watching a BBC2 documentary with Panda's and they all have to be hand reared and artificially inseminated because they're so crap at making love.
Surely this is natures way of saying 'die'.

I assume they've been around many more years than modern man. It's most likley our doing they're so naff at getting their ends away.

You know the reason they are rare is probably because of humans. That said, I fear for the survivals on anything living in China. I remember when everyone decided they must kill all birds during Mao's time. At a set time they would all go outside banging pans together, the birds kept on flying until they fell out of the sky, then they killed them.

Pandas are herbivorous, and usually seen troughing on bamboo shoots, but that's not to say they won't sink their claws into you. :p

Thats what you get for being a fussy eater and only living of one kind of bamboo that growns on a ceratin mountain at a particular altitude.

It must be an environment thing, like the dodos.

That was due to introduced species more than anything rather than a decline in the environment. Interestingly, the domestic house cat is the animal responsible for the most extinctions through its introduction to new habitats :)
