Hi all,
Fancy doing some panoramic work, has anyone got any recommendations regarding stitching software?

DOn't mind paying a small amount if it's worth it....but what options are there?

;)

autostich is freeware (iirc) and fully automated, which is quite handy!

The link above only to a demo, so I am guessing there is a paid version? Plus the Q&A suggest the demo does not support panoramics.

Autostitch is free and fully functioning for panoramas. I've used it for quite a while and like it a lot.

The "Demo" bit refers to commercial licencing I think

Just tried it, can't seems to change the image size, always comes out as 1400 wide...in a pano.

So I did a little comparison.

and it appears that Panoramic factory produces a lot sharper results, but it did take 10X longer, probably due to working with full size pics.

isnt that cheating.. if you gave panoramic factory full size pics but not autostich? stands to reason the output would be sharper!!

I've put in the same files for both.

EDIT - figured out how to output 100%. Will see the result now and compare.

Right, got it out put 100%. The result are a little better, but it is still not as good as PF. If you look at the buildings, and compare the 2, Autostitch seems to have the buildings bending towards the center. Plus it has that black boarder on the sides.

PF auto crops the stitched panorama, AS doesn't and leaves you to decide how to do it.

Having used both I was very impressed with the results of PF but the lack of auto stitching (and until recently the lack of multi row support) frustrated me - manually stitching 37 photographs is a pain...

However, the major problem for me was PFs inability to stitch 2 images together of different resolutions

In the end it's a personal choice :)

I know it crops, but look at the building on the far right and compare the 2.
