Exactly what I've been looking for with my impending SSD OS drive upgrade :p

Highlights of Paragon Migrate OS to SSD:

* Migrate Windows to larger or smaller storage devices in a single operation
* Automatically align partitions on the destination disk if necessary
* Automatically detect and copy MSR for successful migrations of Windows 7
* Allows the user to exclude data during the process in order to fit the destination disk
* Processes locked (in-use) disks with MS VSS to migrate with no Windows reboot
* Guarantees safety for the system and data
* Paragon’s time-proven move/resize functionality is included

Paragon Migrate OS to SSD normally priced at $19.95 per single license. As part of Paragon Software Group promotion offer, the interested users are now entitled to download the full version of Paragon Migrate OS to SSD for free of charge.

edit: nvm fixed it by leaving country as germany.

I downloaded it, but it's not very good, because of it's limited load.

Are you sure that isn't caused by the way the data will be stored on the SSD? You are very close to the limit straight away by the looks of it.

Personally I don't see the point in this sort of migration tool, it's always best to do a fresh install especially when making a change like this, it allows you to remove junk and avoid the residue left behind from applications uninstalls.

For those with OEM W7 Starter installed on a Notebook who don't have the install CD as it's on a secure partition might find it useful

Sorry for the thread necromancy here! I was wondering if anyone has actually used this software? Am I actually just better off doing a fresh install of W7?

Space is at a premium on SSDs you are always better doing a clean install to clear out the muck from existing Windows 7 installs, it might not be much but on a 60Gb - 100Gb HDD every few meg counts :D

It's not as if it takes long ;)

Thanks for the advice, though it'd be nice to hear from someone who has actually used this software. I am asking this as I have quite a few games etc installed and although the windows install itself wont take that long, the process of getting the PC to what I would classify as "Workable" condition would take some time. I am currently leaning towards the re-install option in truth as when I did the install if the OS on my conventional HDD I purposefully, wherever possible, installed software onto my storage drives rather than my system drive. This meant that my C drive is only currently using 51.1 GB (and the new SSD is 128GB).

So with a view to possibly save some hassle, has anyone actually USED this software and if so, what did they think?

I used this today to clone a netbook 160gb hhd to a 40gb ssd.

Worked perfectly - sorted alignement out, auto resized partitions. Was very quick and hastle free. All I had todo was connect both drives, choose source then target and wait 10 min.

Cheers, that sounds quite good. Though I guess if the worst comes to the worst I can always just wipe the SSD and start again with a fresh install.
