Hey all :D

I have a few games I'd like to play on my Macbook Pro but they are Windows only.

I've seen about Boot Camp - however, I like the idea of just being able to stay in the Mac Environment and booting up Parallels and playing the game.

How well does Parallels do if you wanted to use it to play games? Is it just as good as using Boot Camp?

Thanks,

Marky

You have to bear in mind parallels is creating a windows vm. You have to share your resources with osx. Bootcamp is running windows natively on your mac so its performance will be far batter than parallels.

You will be able to play older games in parallels but dont expect to be playing BFBC2 or COD BO!

What I do is create a bootcamp partition and W7 install and then install parallels. Parallels can use your bootcamp partition. That way I can play a heavy resource game direct in bootcamp and I can play light/old games, update steam, use windows only software from parallels, its great!

Talking of Parallels I assume Timemachine will not be backing up the Windows partition. Is that right?

You can un-select that option in the preferences of the VM.
