Last night to my surprise I found BT Infinity was now enabled for my area! So I promptly placed my order, BT said they would sort things out with my current ISP (Sky) to get everything moved over.

I got home this evening and started using the internet to find it really really slow, so decided to check my connection stats etc...

0.32mb down (was 5.8mb at the weekend!!) and upline is still at a steady 0.712mb, around what it has always been.

So, is this coincidence, the day after I request a move to another ISP my connection randomly becomes absolute dog ****? Or do some ISP's get bitter about you leaving them and intentionally sabotage connection speeds?

I've tried the usual, disconnect via router & reconnect, power cycles etc...

Hahaha, oh dear....

My mrs and her mum have spent the last two days re-decorating the living room, the master socket is in the living room, router is connected to a secondary socket in the spare room with my PC.

Turns out when redecorating they unplugged everything in the phone sockets, when putting it all back in decided they didn't want to plug the filter back into the master socket!!!!!

BARRRGH!!! WOMEN!!!!

Mystery solved, back at 5.8mb downstream.

imao, my wife is fatal when she use's the sky remote, pc, and the list goes on or should l have said anything she touch's. lol
