Ill try to keep the story concise.
  • I send packages all the time through Parcel2Go which is a broker for parcel couriers like Parcelforce, UPS, DPD, etc..
  • On the 17th I booked a package collection to the USA via Parcelforce which was collected on the 18th.
  • On the 18th I booked a package collection to the UK via Parcelforce which was collected on the 19th for next day delivery.
  • Buyer alerted me a few days later that the next day package to UK hasn't arrived.
  • I went through my receipts and noticed that I have two labels that are identical with the same details and tracking for the package going to the USA.
  • The tracking for the UK package has a different number and only shows that it was collected and no further updates.
  • Checking the tracking for the USA package I believe it shows that the package bound for the UK was incorrectly labelled by Parcel Force.

I may be wrong but looking at the tracking for the USA package it shows that two separate packages on two different days were bound to the hub and sorted for export. I'm not sure why this didn't flag up in ParcelForce system but there was literally a label that is generated by Parcel2Go with the UK address on it as well as the label that ParcelForce puts on.

I am trying to get this investigated and am awaiting the results of the investigation.

Now just to query who is liable I asked them a hypothetical outlining the above and they said to me the package that was supposed to go to the UK which is now missing I would only be covered for £20 which is the base amount. The package is worth £500 and yes I stupidly didn't cover it for £500 because it was only going a short distance in the UK. I believe that I should be fully covered because of their blatant mistake.

Who is in the right them or me?
