Parental internet controls software or hardware?

Hello, I am looking for software or hardware solution so I can block sites or have a whitelist of sites that can stop anyone on the home Wi-Fi to stop my children from access anything on the internet.

Not sure software alone can do this because of phones and consoles still have built browsers where you sometimes can't install the third-party software and the app can be removed very easy on phone.

I guess a new router that has better security blocking options. I am with virgin media and I could turn that router into modem mode only and then buy I better router to have overall control is what I am thinking?

I upgraded to TP links Deco M4 Mesh wifi system and that has a load of traffic reporting and parental controls. If the VM hub doesn't offer such control, i would suggest upgrading the router that has such controls. Everything is controlled via your phone app on the TP link Deco system so its easily accessed.

Exactly the same, the software is great, just create a profile for the Child and add the relevant devices to that profile and mark it as "Child" and job done

Not 100% sure on this, i dont remember seeing child safe controls in the VM portal, just basic router configurations etc.

Thats looks, with VM I can block sites now and you can have check boxes for things likes drugs and other 18+ stuff on the internet.
It wont 100% stop being able to view webpages as I found with VPN browsers it bypass any restrictions and I don't how to stop that?

Don't allow your kids to have admin accounts.

Untangle will happily block VPN access by IP address. It can also block different types of sites in a very wide range of interests. It’s one of the best solutions I’ve found to this issue.
