Right since going to uni my parents usage has dropped mega. They use less than 2 gig a month.

They are still on Plusnet Premier at £21.99.

I was thinking over the weekend that they are basically getting ripped off. I now need a low usage product which will save them money, can someone give me some suggestions?

Cheers

for a start if they're on premier shove them on plusnet broadband plus i believe its £14.99 for 5Gb per month peak time usage, thats only if you want to save the hassle of migration or cancelling.

Yeah dont think mother would be happy faffing around with migrations, i ll put in for a change to plus I think, save them 6 quid a month, however I think there will be a fee to change down to it :(

I think I saw something about you being able to downgrade once for free on PlusNet at some point, might be worth looking in to. May have changed now though as they seem to change their minds every 5minutes or so.

The free downgrade was from the old tiers (£30 1Mbps, £40 2Mbps) etc to the "new" up to 2Mbps Premier scheme.

Just pay the fee if it is there. Even if it is £15, that will soon be paid off in a couple of months at the lower rate. Otherwise you will only confuse your parents when you explain that they need to change their EMail Addresses, etc.

Paying the £15 would be worth it for the least hassle. :)

(Funny how NTL don't charge that fee. I keep advising most of the customers I see to downgrade now as "normal" users never need these Uber connections like we all use. :D)
