I'm heading off for a 1 night repositioning 'cruise' on an MSC ship going from Southampton to Le Havre this weekend, followed by a whistle-stop tour of the Catacombs in Paris before heading home on the Eurostar. Looking forward to getting a whole bunch of photos down there.

Interested to hear any Paris recommendations for a spare hour or two, otherwise - we'll have a bit of spare time before the train back!

I looked at that trip it was like £59, but couldn't work out a easy way to get back. I'm not use on Paris but I went on Vitusosa a few weeks back. The Mexican restaurant is very good!

Thanks, I'll check it out!

Yeah, we're heading by train from Le Havre to Paris and back on the Eurostar. Neither I nor the wife have been through Le Chunnel before so felt like a good opportunity.

We've cruised with other lines but never MSC, so the 1 nighter felt like a chance to see what their ships are like.

Sounds fun. I can't offer any advice, but I'm interested in how you got on the positioning leg via sea.

Wife spotted it on the MSC website - it's this one. Not advertised as repositioning but clearly what they're up to, although now I look at the ship's schedule I'm not actually sure any more. 3 days out from Le Havre to the Azores, then 5 days out to the British Virgin Islands...

Have a good time. I've been on two MSC cruises now. They are a little move lively than P&O but not a party ship by any means. Drinks onboard are more expensive, food and entertainment is on par with P&O.

If you do fancy the Mexican it's a little bit extra but is all you can eat (We didn't know what pudding to have so they brought us all four), you book it in the French style bar next door.

They are moving it out to the Caribbean for the winter season, It'll be picking up more passengers in Le Harve. MSC Preziosa is taking over the northern European cruses from Southampton for the winter.

Good piece of knowledge, thanks - makes sense!
