Paris Panorama

Well on weds I went to Paris for a planned photo trip but what I was met with was awful conditions and a complete lack of inspiration of any kind - I only took like 30 shots in the end after planning to fill up my whole 1gb card. At least its reminded me of how much I hate France

Anyway although it was overall dissapointing I still managed to come up with my first panorama, taken from the top of...somewhere

The burnt out sky ruins it for me, I would try and clone in a sky into the image, it's a pretty level sky with not many obastacles, it shouldn't be too hard.

but I have to agree with Colin about the sky. Did you shoot in RAW because you should be able to pull a lot more sky detail back in.

Yea the sky was a bit annoying because it was really foggy. I had to sort the levels to get the buildings to show up, ill try and put a sky in though and see how it comes out...

Nope wasnt shot in RAW.

Just a question about the clone brush how would I go about doing that, I assume ill need a big pic of a sky and then use that as the source for the brush?

Yep you could do it that way. Just make sure you use a photo that you took of clouds, no one will notice probably if you used someone elses clouds in your image but I am very against that kind of stuff.

Mate was that photo taken from the top of the stairs by the sacre ceur? It looks very familiar...

mate if I knew id tell you! It was some funny white church.

I had another bash at this using nothing more then levels and a few blending techniques, makes the memory seem a bit more sunny

I know the skys still a bit blown out but at least it is the original sky rather then an imported one..

Much nicer , the sky gives it much more depth , kind of pulls you into Paris :cool:
