thanks C+C welcome

Aaah Park Hill, been the subject of many talks in my Architecture and Psychology lectures. I don't think any pictures can do justice to how unsuccessful such a scheme was. "Streets in the Air", I don't think so. These are the first time I seen pics of the place in B+W and certainly help to justify its gloominess. What's the fourth picture?

nice im a 3rd year student in architecture at hallam. probably had the similar lectures to you on park hill.

Cool, my favourite lecturer(steve sharples) moved over from Hallam to our Uni, he makes all the other lecturers look like wet paint!! Shame he don't tech us in the third year though. :(

I think the tonal range is flat in these images. A better black & white conversion will help these photos a lot imo.

I like the photos though, doesn't look like a palce I would like to walk around with my camera though :p

Photoshop is probabaly one of the better programs to use, just try doing it differently.

Have a look at this thread for a few different methods.

Also in a thread the other day cyKey posted a link to the action he uses for conversion which may be useful for you.

well thourght i would have a go at playing with one of the shots to get the tones back what you think to this one?
