Parking at Heathrow

Parking on the local streets isn't really that viable given Hounslow council's attitude towards it (they use tickets as a cash cow to offset the static tax rate). Even residential cul-de-sacs have restrictions and permits now.

Well I'm not gonna get a hotel if I'm 40miles from heathrow am I?

The cheapest option is driving when there is two people.

A train return from Reading would be cheaper than driving & parking.

I would even get the train from Maidenhead to Heathrow as it's easier/cheaper than leaving the car there although generally a family member would take me.

26 quid return from Reading. Looks cheaper for two than parking alone let alone adding petrol.

The train from Reading is probably one of the easiest routes into Heathrow as well - I'm surprised so many people dismiss it as an option. It's so much more relaxed than fighting your way down the M4 then trying to sort out parking etc.

Reading to Thatcham is £5 each way. :p. Plus I have to pick up a cat on the way home and also get taxi to and from the strain station.

M4 is easy if you plan your flight times to miss peak traffic

I'm 80miles away, between Cambridge and Northampton.

Hotel is the easiest option for us, 7:55 flight, so at the airport for before 5:00, then fly back for 6:55am two weeks later. Plus I hate public transport.
