I think your top 30 is safe, at least for the forseeable future. The stats suggest you'll get to about cell 27 before I can catch you. And in the meantime my output is dwindling :(

As is every ones. How is the server holding up? - you still running three threads durring working hours.
Our office is simular to yours in IT terms (BUT user requirments are very different) but I can only run two daytime threads on the duel xeon without user slowdown and three overnight.

It ran for about 10 minutes with 3 threads, only been 2 for the last couple of months. My server is very poorly though, crashes frequently, usually with the firewall going over first. Probably nothing specifically folding, just folding exposed the problem. :(

Never mind I'll be back to just the home PC after the weekend, as the whole system is about to get wiped. :eek:

I hope to return to full assimilation, but it could be a couple of weeks!

The server has so much corrupted it's best to wipe and start again. Trouble is last time I did that a couple of years ago the workstations wouldn't reconnect properly, sometimes they'd pick up the new server settings, sometimes the old. An absolute nightmare. This time I'm prepared, not faffing around, and will just start again - get's rid of all the pants stuff the users have downloaded too.

Ask the users about that 'pants' stuff some of it might be important to them -
itunes library, digital photes, e-mail address books etc.

I 'cleared' a friend machine once many years ago - she still hasn't forgiven me for deleating her daughters storys :( (disbite me asking if she needed anything and burning every think she identified to disk. she forgot about the stories)
Since then I always use a new harddrive and keep the old one, just in case.

this program is soooo helpful if you have just deleted something you actually need, or if youv'e just done a windows wipe and re-install only to discover your backup is corrupted/ you forgot something really imporant;

restoration

i've used it to restore files from a previous windows install i'd formatted and put a new copy of windows over, it managed to grab back all the data i needed, although obviously if new data has been written over it, it is gone forever

PS snapfiles is also a really great site, i recommend it to you all

i probably use restoration for someone at work maybe 3-4 times a month, always when someone deletes something by mistake and then manages to delete it from the recycle bin instead of hitting restore (noobs lol) i keep ~20 of my most useful apps on a memory stick permanantly and this is one of them

Users have all been warned about the impending clearout. They've all signed agreements that PCs are for business use anyway, so nothing personal should be stored anyway. Even if it is it should be on the server, not workstations, and they know that too. The systems is moderately well locked down, but inevitably some stuff slips in over a couple of years.

We've got shadow client for this :D - best thing about MS server 2003 - right click on explorer window, properties - and that joyous previous version tab shows up :cool:
