parralels+internet sharing

Hey guys, I have an interesting problem:

Essentially I need to use windows for a couple applications and need the internet. However, when i boot into windows, my university connection requires me to 'register' my computer again - which takes 10mins and when it is registered OSX internet no longer works. Is there a way to somehow 'network' my OSX internet to my XP computer??

Please can you be as detailed as possible since i have only been using OSX for a couple of months (and it does rock )

I've only used VMware but I'm guessing it's similar in Parallels.

There are numerous options for networking - one is to allow the guest VM direct access, another is to use your host connection, another is to allow only networking between the guest and the host.

I'm guessing you need to tell Parallels to use the OS X connection with NAT or whatever it is. Don't give it direct access as that will appear as if you attached another computer to your cable, which is why the uni wants you to re-register.
