Parrot MKi9200. Anyone got one?

I've got the 9100 which is the same unit but with a more discreet screen. Works well with an iPod which I leave in the car and the bluetooth works well for phone calls. Had a few firmware issues at first but it seems to be sorted now.

Do you have to drill a hole in your car to fit that?

I just got the Parrot Minikit
http://www.parrot.com/usa/products/plugnplaycarkits

Works fine with my iphone and the battery lasts for ages. It might look a little chunky, but when its on your visor you don't really notice - however I guess that depends on the car.

Plus I can just take it out when I park somewhere out of 'safety'.

i've got the one without a screen as i've got an iphone an can see whats playing & select people to phone from that's screen - its not bad but a little temprimental, stops playing sometimes and the call quality at the moment is awful (that may be a problem with the mic - need to pull it out and check the connections)

all in all i want rid eventually for a fully integrated headunit - but for the time being it does alright.

I have an old ck3000 which I must say was the best £50 purchase for my car back in 2004~5. It was easy to fit and combined with the awesome OS windows mobile running voice command, I dont need to go anywhere near my mobile in my car. I press the answer button and then i say who I want to call and bingo it does it. Plus the fact that it reads messages out to me as well is a bonus. It will be given a boost soon as well when MS release TellMe, i will beable to create new messages and then send them.

All when I should be driving my car.

I'm currently looking at getting one of these in stalled - appears to be about £200 fitted.

Big selling point is that it also includes a full iPod/USB/3.5mm connection through the stereo, which is pretty good considering all the other bits and pieces it does very well for the price.

I have the 9100, in my opinion it's better than a 9200 because it's more discreet and less distracting. As said above, there were a few issues with early firmware but that's been ironed out.

,I have that im my e39.
I like it, in theory, it is buggy though, although that should be fixed using updates.

The satnav voice doesnt work with it though.

The functions for the music are excellent though, usb stick, sd card etc etc.

Personally, for £200 I think it's an ok deal.

Got one for £150, fitted it this morning. I'm impressed.
The audio quality from it's amplifier is vastly superior to the muck that the BMW headunit chucks out.
Simple to use, easy to update.

:) Where did you get it from? I went to John Kleis.

Don't forget to get the firmware updates from the parrot site - otherwise you may get the "controller-does-not-connect-to-the-parrot-kit-properly" issue when it's cold.

Done the 1.3 update as soon as I had it installed.
I don't think I can say where I got it from as I think they do some products ocuk do.
John Kleis.... I should have thought of them. Forgot they were in Reading.

How have you found John Kleis installs to be, jpmonkey69? I had them spec an aftermarket amp and speaker system for my S-class, but decided against it and went with a main dealer 7.1 system in the end due to not being sure about them ripping my car apart. Not sure if i made the right decision or not still :/

I think these car ICE places are good at ripping cars apart, I opened the car and left him to it, returned a few minutes later and he had torn the interior apart!

Also, Rilot, where did you mount the screen?

On the wodden facia in front of the passenger. It's right next to the factory headunit and facing me on the angled mount.
I've put the remote next to the cruise control switch to the left of the steering column.

Brilliant! I've taken many a car to them, and I always get it back in perfect condition, with all the trim in place and no rattling. All the staff know their stuff, and are really helpful. If you want to see some of their work, they'll be able to show you if you ask.

Personally, I'd not use anywhere else; and all the other people I know who have used them say the same.

Ah right, OK, I stuck it there too using sticky pads which are rubbish, I need replacements.

I put the remote just above the hazard lights switch though.
