I thought I might crosspost this here as it likely interests people here that might not visit the PC Gaming subforum.

Basically, it's Steam In Home Streaming from your main PC/gaming PC but without Steam. It even works with a Raspberry Pi 3 as a client.

Much more info / links in my initial thread (https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/remote-lan-wan-gaming-with-parsec.18806983/) but long story short...
  1. Download the free application from their website (https://parsecgaming.com/) for your main PC/Mac/Linux box and run as a "host".
  2. Put the same client on another PC/Mac/RaspberryPi3 either on your local network OR even at a friends house and connect to your host computer.
  3. Enjoy low latency (16ms), 60fps desktop and gaming remotely.
In my testing I found it to perform better than my Steam Link on my wired local network and they've got some numbers to back up my "feelings" that I had while just giving it a try (https://blog.parsecgaming.com/steam-in-home-streaming-latency-test-versus-parsec-7884144b29f1)

It works so well in fact that for my partners new study I now plan on having her PC setup in a cupboard and running headless. She can then just use her Mac laptop to remote in and play whatever games she wants (Skyrim, Theme Hospital)

I'm just away to see how well it preforms for a twitch shooter like CS:GO... I'll update my original thread.
