Hello everyone, I'm sure there are a thousand and one threads about this but I thought I'd as for your help anyways.

I'm looking to rebuild my PC, not entirely from scratch, I already have a graphics card that is decent and 2 HDD's. I want a motherboard, memory, processor, possibly an SSD and suitable power which wont destroy my PC.

I aren't looking to spend a colossal amounts as I am skint!

I was looking around, £100 ish for a processor, £60-£70 for a motherboard, I want 16GB memory so the best I can get for the cheapest.

Thanks in advance :)

the bundles here are really good, in your price range it will be a low end one, but an overclocked bundle with a low end cpu will be as good as a none overclocked min ranged one, for me as your prices seem low go for a amd range setup as cost per power is good, ive just bought a i7 bundle but then again i wanted it for games only so needed more power, just last week bought a top end amd full system fro here and tbh that rocked, wsn't overclocked but was so fast in the benchmarks i ran that i decided to update my own pc.

for me go for one of the value bundles but just add more ram, what ever you pick will be out of date in 6 months, so rule of thumb it get what you want from it now, dont pay top prices for the latest stuff, buy what you can afford or want to spend now and upgrade later when the better hardware is half price of less.

more ram of low speed is better than less ram of faster speed. speed equals cost, but unless your benchmarking 16gb of the cheapest ram will do for most, same as m/b's buy one with what you want on it, as most of the top boards are over kill for most users

What power supply would I need with these to run it properly?

I just want it too be able to run photoshop and some games well. Is an i5 worth the money?

psu for me i'd get a 500psu and a good make

and for gaming it depends on what you play, for most an i5 will be fine, an overclocked one would be good for most stuff thats out tbh, as long as your not playing at a large resolution with all on ultra etc

i like cosair psu, but any branded one would be fine, i use a cosair cx 600 and also a cit 750 plus have a cooler master and a be quite ones as well

PSU....not too sure about that, someone else will direct you

i5 is well worth the money, they are strong little chips with a lot of power & O/C headroom. If you dont want to spend that much, you can allways look at the AMD FX range.

Is it worth getting an i5 and maybe just holding off on the 16GB memory for now? I have 8GB already. Would it still perform well enough to run photoshop etc with no hiccups?

My FX6100 & 8GB Corsair Vengeance is spot on for my CS4 & Lightrooms v3, quick and doesnt use all 8gb.

You can always get another 8Gb if you need it, later down the line.

must agree with above, on a budget the AMD FX range is good for the price, i have used a quad core amd chip for gaming as was good tbh for the price, anything more like 6 or 8 core aren't needed for gaming as none will use it, very few use more than one core with only the latest using more than 2 core, only benchmarker and geeks like myself want more

gives us a total build cost you want to spend and im sure someone here will spec you if you want the advice

£350 is my limit for now. All I NEED is a cpu, motherboard and a psu that will run it (I know nothing about power in comparison to cpu's/motherboards or whatever it goes on). If I can get 16GB aswell then great, if not then that can wait :)
