Already have HD case and PSU so thats really all I need.

Is there any better parts for those prices?

Also what would be the issues surrounding simply using my old HD and install of windows? Will I have to reinstall or just delete all the defunct drivers?

Thanks for the help!

Anthony

I am not sure about your prices.

As far as windows goes, if you put the old hd in a new system, I will bet it will not boot at all.
If its xp, just boot off of the cd and do a os refresh. It will boot then and prompt you to reinstall drivers.

Really though, I would just format it or boot off a ultimate boot cd or something and backup what you want off of it, and then start from scratch. You will get better performance and less headaches by doing it that way.

Done and thanks! :)

any more for any more? :)

Is DDR 3 worth the cash or is it better to get 'good-ish' DDR2 for that budget?

Thanks, its somthing to thunk about to be honest. May risk it, but probably wont. Time to crack out that external HD for the backup i guess...
