I was going to build a pc a while back but my parents wouldnt let me until summer incase it interfered with school work

Currently Have:
Case: Cooler Master CM90II lite
PSU: Antc True power 650w (modular)
HDD: A 500gb seagate one ( was about 30 quid from here)
Memory: 8GB Geil Value DDR3 1600Mhz and 4 Gb DD3 1600 Mhz which i think is XMS3
Optical drive: Took it out my old pc its just a bog standard one with lightscribe ( whis is pretty useless)

I have 400-500 pound to spend on a Mobo/CPU/GPU combo and a decent (ish) heatsink.

The pc is going to be for gaming mainly MMO's and RPG's but il probably get some shooters if i have the money. I currently have a crappy monitor and my 37" full hd LG tv but i will get a monitor for christmas.

Therer is a small problem i think in that i plan to go to uni next september (2012) and i want to do Electonic Engeneering with computer hardware or a Computer science degree. At the last open day i went to they reccomended that students have their own high(ish) spec pc because we're going to be doing allot of moddeling etc.

If you've read to hear thanks :D
P.S the reason i dont use the pound sign is because my computer doesnt like the combination of shift and 3 for some reason

Thanks for the specs.
£500 is probably the very maximum i can go to as that was the stretch from £450 :p , I still have to spend £40 on my copy of windows 7.

I thought the 6950's were about £170-180 when they came out

Thanks for the help, whats the real differance between p67 and Z68 mobo's?

Im guessing the z68's are beteer for crossfire and sli or something

Can you still flash the 6950's?
Haven't seen anyone talk about it in a while.

Also while what you typed about the z68 looks very impressive il be honest and say i have no clue what you're on about XD

P67 Vs Z68 ?

I wont need crossfire straight away but when it comes to the end f the GPU's life il be at uni, so crossfiring a second one will be a more viable (cheaper) option than buying a new one i hope :)

Now GPU decision, im more than likely going to go for a 6950 but which one to get ?

is this one really worth the extra £40?

Ordering today :D
Just deciding between a 560ti and a 6950 because my friend thats helping me build it recommended the 560ti, i wish picking stuff was easier :(

Well im getting a new monitor for christmas, probably about 150 pounds. So im guessing il only get 1080p. Is it not better to have the extra Vram to increase the longevity of the card?
