Lurking...
Hi there..

I've got all my data and documents on one partition, seperated from Win XP on the other partition. I was using Partition Magic to resize these partitions today, relativly simple, right?..

When it was executing the batch process after rebooting, it got stuck moving data, and by stuck, it was at 30% (total completed 21%) where it stayed for over 3 hours. (its never taken that long to complete the whole process before). So i reboot to find that the partition with all my documents on (coursework, music, vids etc) is unreqognisable.

Is there anything i can do that could make this drive partition readable again? At the moment, partition magic will only let me format this drive, which I would rather not do just yet.

Thanks for any help in advance.

System is:
AMD Athlon 64 4000,
2.0 Gb RAM
250 Gb HDD (split into the two partitions)
ATI X800
Windows XP Pro SP2

That's the risk of using partition magic i'm afraid! You need a program like GetDataBack to recover all the files. It's not worth messing around trying to make the drive useable because you could just make the situation worse. Recover and backup the data, then format the partition and start again imo.

cheers, ive downloaded that program and im running it on the damaged partition now. Fingers Crossed!

Time Remaining: 20+ Hours. :o
