partition re-sizing (W7)

I want to chop ~30GB off the windows partition on my laptop for linux, can anyone recommend a good program? I have an old version of partition magic but it doesn't support W7.

Whats wrong with using the inbuilt windows 7 feature?

Right clk my computer - Manage - Shrink partition.

Good luck with that, I tried to do it on mine and it only gave me 5GB even though there was twenty times that free. Said something about files that could not be moved :confused:

The shrinking worked fine.

Now I want to be able to move my windows partition, so...I'll take a look at gparted.

as always, be careful when messing with partitions..

backup first

I like using Parted Magic, it's a boot cd that contains gparted and other useful tools

I use Acronis Disk Director Suite, very good bit of software used it for acouple of years now, never had any probs at all.
