partition recovery?

Howdy

A friend asked me to recover some photo's from a laptop that won't boot into Windows 'due to a virus', and once I've booted from a live CD I can see his Windows partition has been deleted :/

Is there any free software I can use to recover the partition in order to backup his old documents?

It's also included in Parted Magic

Free live boot disc that comes with gparted etc, has a browser built in, nice little linux build

Cheers, worked a treat! Just ran it from the Ubuntu Live CD, rebooted, and the laptop boots up into Windows as normal
