I've just reformatted my HDD and reinstalled Windows XP. Its a 250GB HDD, but its only showing up as 128GB. I installed a demo of Partition Table Doctor, as it shows up the remaining 100GB as non active, and it under system it says 'free'

I formatted with the in built formatting tool in the Windows XP setup. There were limited options, and it told me I only have 131GB free, but I continued anyway as I had little other option.

The file system is NTFS. I've upgraded to sp2.

How can I add the rest of this unused space to my existing partition?

Control Panel>Admin tools>Computer Management>Disk Management Click on the physical drive and you should see the unallocated 100meg, just right click and you should be able to partition/format it.

You should have made a slipstreamed SP2 disc using something like nLite, then you could have used the whole 250GB on initial formatting. The 127GB limit was removed in SP1
