Partitions, is this possible...

Ok, so I'm having space issues with Vista64, and rather than reinstall it I'd like to just shrink the larger of the two partitions I have on the drive (partition isn't being used) and then extend the Windows partition.

Is this possible/safe to do or is it just easier to do a full reinstall and change partition sizes/remove them altogether?

You can do this with PartitionMagic.

Take a look at this, Vista includes functionality to resize partitions without the need for 3rd party apps:

Ah, brilliant, thank you.

I've used PM before, but completely forgot about it, but the fact Vista can do it anyway with comp management that's great.

All done. Figured I may as well give Vista the full 320GB drive as I'm not going to use the other partition for anything.

Partition Magic cant do Vista64 Partitions can it?

I know I had PM8 and it would not work properly, so I moved up to acronis ( Vastly better IMO )

I just used Computer Management as it meant I didn't need any third party apps. I removed the 2nd partition on the drive and then extended the OS partition to be the whole of the drive. It now has 320GB (298GB when formatted) to play with...I don't think I'll run out of space.
