I just got a new computer and it has a 750GB hard drive. I want to partition it. I've never partitioned a drive before. What is a good program that will make it easy to do? I found on Google that I can do it with command line, but I'm not good enough with it.

Disk Management within windows can do it

First off.

How much space is currently being used up?
What OS (which Windows) is it?

This is what I use to do it

http://partedmagic.com/download.html

Download the zip file for the CD version

Open the zip file and drag the .iso file inside it to the desktop.

Install imgburn from www.imgburn.com

Use imgburn to burn that file on the desktop to cdr/cdrw (burn it as a disc image)

Reboot the PC with the CD tell it to boot from CD. It will load up a simple operating system, and in there is a partition manager called 'gparted'

Find a guide for gparted before doing anything, it's pretty simple, but as with any partition software, you can trash your pc if you do it incorrectly...

Backup any files before doing it (as a precaution)

Any questions, fire away

Welcome to the fourms :)
