Hello

A friend of mine has asked me to build them a rig that is good for getting into video editing. I haven't built one for a while and usually only build gaming rigs for myself, so I am a little out of touch with what's good and what's available.

Their budget is around £800 (excluding monitors).

Can anyone suggest a good set of parts that would accommodate this?

Cheers.

Something based around a Ryzen 5700g might work well, and mean you don't have to suffer the pain of graphics card purchasing - but that isn't out for retail until August.

Intel 10700 is a good price at the moment and also has integrated graphics.

A fair chunk of money will go on extra RAM and a fast SSD. For the budget of £800 a 10700 build might be good shout

CPU: Intel Core i7-10700 2.9 GHz 8-Core Processor (
Motherboard: MSI MAG B460M BAZOOKA Micro ATX LGA1200 Motherboard (
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3000 CL16 Memory
Storage: Sabrent Rocket Q 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive
Case: Fractal Design Meshify C Mini MicroATX Mini Tower Case )
Power Supply: SeaSonic CORE GM 500 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply (

About £700

Yes, but you will struggle to get a decent one to go in a sub £800 build at the moment. Give it a month and maybe.

A 3060ti and MSRP would be a good addition but it's taking up half the budget by itself

Video editing and encoding puts lots of long duration load on CPU.
So motherbaord should have higher end VRM for those Intel's landfill fire hot power hogs.

Thought the bazooka was relatively decent for a 65w cpu and a £800 budget. Can you suggest something that would be better?
