Hi Guys,

I haven’t built a computer since the AMD Thunderbird days so I would appreciate if you guys could help a noob out  I’m not sure if this is the right forum, but I assume that case modders would know a far bit about case assembly / cable management etc.

I’ve been ‘shadowing’ these forums for around 6 months now and from what I can tell, the below build appears to OK.

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient SLACR 95W Edition" 2.40GHz
I’m still undecided about the thermal compound.
Asus P5K Premium/WiFi-AP Intel P35
Western Digital Raptor 74GB X 2 (Planned RAID 0 config)
Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency
LiteOn 20x DVD+/-RW/RAM LightScribe
BFG GeForce 8800 GT
Tuniq Tower 120-LFB CPU Cooler (Socket 478/754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)
OCZ Technology StealthXStream 600W Active PFC
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound

I have all the peripherals (mouse, keyboard, monitor).

I also have 2 external hard drives that I want to integrate, but ‘outside’ / not part of the RAID 0 configurations.

What I was wondering, is what cords / cables would you suggest in order to hook everything up. I believe that with the 900, you need power cable extensions because of the position of the PSU.

I want to minimise the cable clutter as much as possible and there appears to be allot of threads that detail how to do this with the Antec 900.

Can anyone suggest a parts list in order to build the above whilst also managing cables etc?

Thanks in advance.

All the cables you need will come with the motherboard and PSU, you shouldn't need to buy any more.:)

As for the case, a lot of people don't like the 900 very much because it's quite cramped, and difficult to manage cables inside. It also has a habit of filling up with dust due to all the fans!

However, if you like the looks (they're not to everyones' tastes) then you could do worse. Personally I'd recommend something like the Lian Li PC7+.

Excellent! Thanks for the reply. In terms of the 900, in my research it appeared that for the price, it was unmatched for cooling. TBH, i don't really care about the looks or the dust.

My plan, long term is to sell the 900 and by a MM UFO + custom watercooling kit but thats going to cost me about £350 + so :)

Also, can anyone suggest a parts list / recommended parts for cable management? I.e., what would they use for this setup?
