Also will you be doing alternative colours?
140mm rad models possible?
We will definitely be able to offer a wide range of colours through our website as with all of our cases, the more popular options being stocked at OCUK. At the current time we intend to design and scale our cases primarily around 120mm fans, primarily because of the diversity of fans and radiators available. As modders and watercoolers ourselves we can appreciate the 140mm form is slowly growing in popularity, as the demand increases it is something that we will consider.
Really interesting case. I hope you will be showing some of your cases at i55, maybe this one? What is the effect of not having the pump and res next to each other in the loop as you seem to have done here?
Definitely, we will be taking a wide range of builds small and large including this one, certainly MATE and SENESCENTIS too.
Separating the pump and reservoir in itself doesn't present any serious problems, the critical points are that the pump should never run dry (pump air). Both during use and when filling the loop, the pump is lubricated and cooled by the liquid. Generally the point of including a reservoir is to make the loop easy to fill, easy to top up and bleed out any air that may get trapped along the way.
While planning the loop, lining up all of the fittings so that it would be aesthetically pleasing and distinctive we may have over looked the order of the loop. As such the coolant flows from the: pump > memory > cpu > reservoir > rad > rad > pump. And that made a couple of things kinda difficult, the pump picks up coolant from beneath it and the resevoir flows upwards. Without any internal pipes that means that the reservoir must be completely full at all times, defeating it's purpose of trapping air.
Filling it was a long battle using extra pipes connected to the res and the pump but despite how hard we made it for ourselves the effect is amazing.
the atx tower case is so lovely now will the be an fall e atx case ?
The initial retail ATX case won't be identical to the one used for this project. Not all E-ATX boards are the same size but we will ensure that the retail version can neatly accommodate a wide range including all of the enthusiast X99 boards.
Looks brilliant that does! Some nice pics
Thank you!
Such a tease! Well, I'm putting my new case purchase on hold until you release full details, so job well done
Keep the pics coming!
We certainly will. The retail ATX case should be finalized extremely soon, if we can make it through the heat!
