I love my Parvum, really do. But does anyone else have an issue with just how loud it is?

I have 4 fans, 2 SP120 PWM Performance attached to my H100i and the 2 default fans that come with it at the front.

They are all controlled via the Corsair link and run at the lowest possible speed. (Like 6-700RPM) Until things get above 40.c to which they then ramp up gradually.

With 2 Reference MSI 670s (But when I added the second one. The sound increase wasn't noticeable)

When gaming I can honestly tell you, I can't really hear it through my Qpad's but with them off. This thing must be the loudest PC on this earth.

Is there anything else I can do to reduce the noise, other than buying a sound insulated case like my old fractal. Which was lovely and quiet.

Need some advice. I love the look of the Parvum but its so loud and I sometimes leave the PC on with Plex to watch films on my TV. The whirring of all the fans are driving me insane.

I'm in the middle of a Parvum build just now, and to be honest I've yet to experience that woe but no doubt it'll be the same here as I've got a MSI 980Ti in there.

And what about that GPU clamp being outside the case... It caused me no end of greif tonight... And then I realise that the cover probably won't fit because the card is 20mm wider than standard.

** sigh **

By the way, the cables coming from the front switch... The black and red are the power button, but what are the yellow and blue pair for?

yellow and blue are the LED , ive got mine on the hdd activity.

Dunno what the Parvum fans are like but I've always found the SP fans noisey - they shift a good amount of air but are far from quiet in my experience.

ive been running the parvum f1 fans for about a month now and they are pretty good tbh, i had enermax cluster advanced before and they were good aswell, both use pwm and are quiet.

I had to pretty much bend that really quite dangerous finger slicer you call a GPU clamp.

Struggling to figure out whether I want to wait until after iseries to get a different case or not. Or. Keep my Parvum and a new case and swap it into the parvum for lan events lol.

The phanteks stuff looks good. Like the Pro M but I need something with fan filters...

Glad it's not just me having problems! The mobo tray is also misaligned slightly with the IO shield which I think also adds to the GPU issue... It's like the inner wall is bowed slightly.

Cheers.

To the OP: SP120 fans shouldn't be too noisy at 700rpm. Is there maybe something else causing the noise?

If it's the ramp up that's creating the noise, then you need to look at a different fan curve, although you might end up in a heat V noise battle.

TBH I wouldn't SLI in this case without a custom loop.

Temperatures are good. I think its the sp120s. To be honest. I've had a great run with the case. But I think I'd like something a bit more practical. Having to bring an Allen key to take a hard drive out is beginning to become annoying.

With regards to the IO shield. Yep mines screwed too. Proper out of whack. I can barely plug stuff into it.

That's not just the case you've bought from me. When I got it, it was the same. I didn't worry too much as once it was built, it was stable & sturdy.

I had 4x Alpenfohn Wingboost 2 PWMs in it which were running at about 400rpm when the PC wasn't being used for gaming and about 700rpm when set to full load.

I found a few niggles with the case, but its aesthetically pleasing so didn't bother making much of a fuss.

Yes, case looks great Snips and I'm sure it'll be nice when finished... I just didn't realise the little challenges this case provides.

The mid wall being slightly off the straight has had quite a knock on effect on other things.

Yeah, took me a while to get that one straight :/

I've just got my build up and running, and first impressions are that fan noise will not be an issue.

That's with 2*Noctua F12, 4*SP120 QE and 3*Noctua 80mm.

I've still got some testing to do, but with all the 120 fans at 750rpm and the 80mm fans at 1000rpm noise wasn't that bad and temperatures seem fine.

I've got more tweaking to do, and I might even dial them all down a bit further.

Sooooo glad to hear its all ok :D

I think the fan noise entirely depends on what fans you use. I had some Thermaltake fans when I first bought the case and they sounded like UFOs, it was awful! I must have gone through 3 different makes/models before I settled on some and was happy with the noise.

All is good mate, and that bottom panel has made a huge difference with the cooling of my GPU... Even a little supply of cool air to the heat sink changes things. Just as well because I hate the reference cards.

By the way OP, have you narrowed it down to which fans are causing all the noise?

Considering that the SP120s are connected to my H100i and on boot they spin to max and it sounds like my PC is about to explode. I'm going to go with those.

The fronts are fine to be honest. Its more the tandem whooshing sound as they are all plugged in and controlled by the same unit.

I'm going to have a look at a compromise between airflow and noise and see what the general consensus is on which fans to buy.

I will try that this evening. If I get a chance. I'm pretty certain that the CPU doesn't go over 65 ish. Heavy benchmarking my GPUs go up to 80c. so might be slight room there. But I am still leaning towards a more insulated case for cleaning and sound purposes lol.

Cleaning the parvum needs to be done pretty much monthly.

How did you go with it?

I finished tweaking with Speedfan the other night and with 9 fans and a water pump this rig is silent on idle, and the loudest noise comes from the GPU when gaming... And it's nowhere near noisy.

You definitely need to fine tune as the case makes for one of the quietest rigs I've had.
