Hi there,

Ok, so I've been driving for a year and want to buy a new car but the car is still expensive to insure and was wondering if doing a pass plus or crash course will decrease insurance costs and would it be worth it?

Cheers

Try running some quotes saying youve got it and see if the saving is worth it against the cost of the course

In my experience it doesn't do anything for quotes. It's certainly not going to do enough to make an otherwise unaffordable car to insure suddenly affordable :(.

When my girlfriend did it, it gave her an effective years no claims on her insurance. For the hundred or so pound it cost, it was financially worth it.

Do a few quotes and work it out.

Been lots of recent reports that Pass Plus is not considered to make any difference to insurance quotes, as the statistics show it doesn't make you any less likely to have a prang.

Made a difference when I did it 4 years ago, as suggested try running quotes with and without it - and if it does make a saving for you then go for it :)

Pass plus with some companies is the same as having 1 years NCB so knocks 35% off.

You do the maths!

EDIT: Please note that I said SOME and also that it was 6 years ago when i passed my test!
